About Southern States Reflector

A free digital voice network built for the Southeast

Our Mission

Southern States Reflector was created to provide amateur radio operators across the southeastern United States with a free, reliable, and multi-mode digital voice network. We believe every ham deserves access to a quality network regardless of which radio or mode they use.

Our Network

Southern States Reflector runs on XLX reflector software hosted in Atlanta, Georgia on a cloud server. This means our network is always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no risk of home internet outages taking us down.

Our network is designed to grow. We are actively working to add support for DMR, D-Star, AllStar, and EchoLink so that operators using any digital mode can join the conversation.

Coverage Area

While our network can be accessed from anywhere in the world via hotspot, our primary focus is connecting operators across the southeastern United States including:

  • Mississippi
  • Alabama
  • Tennessee
  • Georgia
  • Louisiana
  • Arkansas
  • Florida
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina
  • Virginia
  • Kentucky
  • Texas
  • Oklahoma

Our Goal

Our long term goal is to build a large multi-mode network covering the entire Southeast — linking repeaters, hotspots, and nodes across the region into one unified community. Think of it as the southeastern answer to networks like America's Kansas City Wide and the East Coast Reflector.

We are just getting started and we invite you to be part of it from the ground floor!
